My "share" today is a photoof our friend Isabelle's Valentine works of art. Artist Isabelle's "share" includes her creativity in shapes, textures, colors, media, and a mini gift for her classmates. With this posting, we celebrate the natural gifts of our children, and an exceptional appreciation and encouragement from Isabelle's mother! Thank you, Nancy! "Happy Valentine's Day! Very proud of The Kid for cutting out all 24 hearts for her classmates, taping on the temporary tattoos, and stamping "FROM"...all by herself." Children will not remember you for the material things you provided but for the feeling that you cherished them. Richard L. Evans 612.325.3267

EcoFillIt’s not pretty. It’s beautiful. Our Footprint* In our home, we’re recyclers. Cardboard is flattened and bundled. Milk cartons are rinsed out and separated from soup cans. Pop (that’s Minnesotan for “soda”) cans, though, get special attention. They’re crushed down to a fraction of their original size and placed into a recyclable garbage bag. My husband folds his can-recycling trips into a well-planned errand day, and never fails to let me know upon his return that he not only has recycled the bags of pop cans, he has also earned $3.50, which “will pay for at least eight days of my (coupon-purchased, gas-station) morning coffee!” Our cupboards and closets hold what we need and use. Regular donations are deposited (“recycled”) at our local Goodwill location. Recycling has become an ordinary part of our household routine; our intention is to contribute, in any small way, to reducing collective energy consumption. (Win-Win: Yes, I admit that I do appreciate organized spaces!) Peanuts, Bubble Wrap and RibbonsLassothemoon Gift Baskets, now in its eighth year, has taken incremental steps to integrate a recycling program into our operations. Our shipping “peanuts” are made from biodegradable cornstarch. Other peanuts, when received from in-coming shipments, are colorized and reused when our gift baskets are packed and shipped. Likewise, plastic bubble wrap we receive is recycled and used in securing gift baskets, in preparation for shipping. Beautiful little pieces of treasured ribbon as well as fanciful papers are also “recycled,” stored, and used as gift basket enhancement. The Unsung We are proud to announce that the gift basket “fill” which holds Lassothemoon Gift Baskets products together within the finished gift basket is EcoFill, both a recycled and recyclable paper product. Our intention at Lassothemoon Gift Baskets is that every single recipient of a courier-delivered or shipped gift basket from Lassothemoon Gift Baskets will enjoy the originally-designed gift basket and its theme, tastes, aromas, bottles, candles, and candies, cheeses, crackers, gourmet treats, and other surprises. We hope, too, that after the contents of the gift basket are enjoyed, the container will be repurposed in the home or donated, continuing it s journey. This unsung basket fill that has kept the gift basket’s beautiful and delicious contents safe and secure, too, may be recycled. Perhaps its recycling journey will find a new purpose in a Sunday newspaper, into shopping bags, or even, if it’s lucky, once again fashioned into gift basket fill, with a chance to sing once again. Beautiful. 612.325.3267

Lady Madonna recently voiced her dislike for the hydrangea when a fan offered her the flower. To fans of the vintage "It's a Wonderful Life," the flower is magical, with an indescribable aura ("a field of subtle, luminous radiation surrounding a person or object..."-Wikipedia). It's a Wonderful Life, 1946 George Bailey, to Mary: "What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea. I'll give you the moon, Mary."
Mary: "I'll take it! Then what?" George Bailey: "Well, then you can swallow it, and it'll all dissolve, see... and the moonbeams would shoot out of your fingers and your toes and the ends of your hair..."
Mary, temporarily sentenced to the hydrangea bushes: magic. Lassothemoon. (We're all about the hydrangea.) 612.325.3267
